Long Title: Introduction to Linear Algebra and Differential Equations  

Course Description: An introduction to linear algebra and to firstand secondorder differential equations. Topics include elementary matrices, LU factorization, QR factorization, the matrix of a linear transformation, change of basis, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, solving firstorder differential equations and secondorder linear differential equations, and initial value problems. This course is part of a twocourse sequence that continues with Math 30650 (325). Credit is not given for both Math 20580 (228) and Math 20610 (221).
