Course Description:
This course will cover optical topics frequently encountered in advanced scientific research including wave equations, reflection & refraction, dispersion, lenses & aberrations, Fourier optics, wave packets, interferometry & coherence, Fraunhofer & Fresnel diffraction, laser physics, imaging theory & adaptive optics, polarization effects, and non-linear optics. This class will equip students for University optics research and prepare them for more advanced optics & photonics classes.
