Course Description:
This course is intended for graduate students and will give an introduction to the concepts of statistical mechanics and statistical thermodynamics. The course will be geared toward areas needed for research in materials and solid state devices. Topics to be covered include: Thermodynamics Probability, Kinetic theory of gases, Classical statistical mechanics, and Quantum statistical mechanics.
